The finalists were announced March 16th, 2022 — to be named a finalist in five separate categories was a true honour. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2022 HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence:
What are the HAVAN Awards?
The goal of the HAVAN Awards is to shine a “spotlight on excellence in new-home construction, renovation, and design in Metro Vancouver.” Currently in its 13th year, HAVAN is a premier local industry program that honours the regions industry professionals who have excelled in their field.
There are so many worthy companies in the home-building industry; making it a great one to be a part of, as everyone feels continuously challenged and held to a high standard. From pristine, custom-built homes and complete structural renovations to sublime production homes, resort-inspired outdoor design, and modern smart kitchens, HAVAN features some of the best in the business.
In their media release, HAVAN CEO, Ron Rapp, noted the importance of environmental considerations in modern day homebuilding. With BC’s requirement that all new home constructions be net zero ready by 2032, homebuilding has taken a turn to directly address climate concerns.

One of the biggest years yet, this year’s awards unite 86 builders and designers who have snagged 233 spots as HAVAN finalists. With only 61 category wins, the competition is stiff. Win or lose, the nomination is a huge recognition in of itself. The finalists are put through a rigorous judging process that consists of a peer-reviewed panel of award-winning builders, designers, and renovators from all across Canada.
